Ring update. And an old friend’s new music.
So we’re one week in on Ring Experiment: The Saga Continues. The most marked changes, like last time, are in the paper bag we’re using for substrate (excellent word, Commenter Matt! Many thanks). This isn’t a great photo, but not much is happening. I’ll try to capture more detail when we’re in new territory.

Meanwhile, I’ve been getting aggravated by social networking. I have to update my facebook and my myspace (haven’t been there in eons), and my twitter feed, or I feel remiss. Were it not a tacit part of my job, I’d just cancel the lot and flounce off to read a book.
The plus side, of course, is when you hear from someone in your distant past who is up to something pretty keen.
To that end: Meet Joel, an authentic genius with whom I had the pleasure of attending college, and listen to a sample song from his new album.

Hey, thanks for the hat tip. It’s too bad there isn’t a cheap way to accelerate this experiment.
Still, I gotta imagine that a frillion ducks would’ve choked to death on that thing by now.
