So many social networks, so little interest

Between Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Yammer, LinkedIn, G-mail Chat, Skype, and Office Communicator, I’ve burned out my willingness to communicate.

(Does anyone even use MySpace anymore?)

I know social networks are where it’s at. They’re all Web 2.0 and the hottest thing going in The Tubes. I get it. Really, I do. But enough already. Why am I sitting here trying to think of something to say just so I can be current?

I’m really just not that interesting. Trust me.

I mean, seriously – I just spent 10 minutes agonizing over whether to make a simple joke on Facebook to a friend who will totally get it for fear that her friends will attack me and make my Facebook life uncomfortable. In the end I made the joke. And I didn’t even put a smiley face after it to make sure they knew I was kidding. Yeah, you heard me. I’m a risk-taker. Living on the edge.
