Kinoki Detox Cleansing Foot Pads: Parameters

Kinoki!

Kinoki!

Now, we know they’re bogus and that in no way do they suck toxins out of your body. But my research raises a question: do Kinoki foot pads change color based on contact with air or water, and is temperature a factor?

Sadly, Spouse no longer has unfettered access to a mass spectrometer. I mean, what’s the point of being a geek if you can’t go performing random acts of spectrometry. So, we’re going to have to build our own out of duct tape and cat hair. Meanwhile, here is our best take on a scientific process for the Kinoki foot pads.

So, now I’ve developed parameters.
We’re going to use all 14 pads in one big night of Kinoki. It’s going to be padtastic.
  1. On my freshly cleaned foot >> warmish flesh (I have cold feet), lack of daily grime.
  2. On my not freshly cleaned foot >> warmish flesh, daily grime inclusive.
  3. On Spouse’s freshly cleaned foot >> warm Spouse flesh, lack of daily grime. Spouse’s interior is positively riddled with toxins.
  4. On Spouse’s not-so-clean foot >> warm Spouse flesh, daily grime.
  5. In the fridge >> cold air.
  6. In the fridge on a clean potato  >> cold air, organic thing to adhere to.
  7. On the counter on a clean potato >> tepid air, organic thing to adhere to.
  8. In the dryer on a clean potato >> hot air, organic thing to adhere to.
  9. On the kitchen counter >> room-temperature, dry air.
  10. Taking a turn around the clothes dryer >> to examine the potential effects of hot air.
  11. In a cold water bath – tap water with fridge ice >> cold water with (sub)urban toxins.
  12. In a cold water bath – Brita version >> cold water with fewer city toxins – that is, if you believe the Brita hype, but that’s another experiment.
  13. In a hot water bath >> Brita water, just off the boil.
  14. In the yard >> the “December in Bethesda on a very busy road” factor.

The only part that bothers me is that I can’t figure out a way to stick one to a cat without being, you know, cruel.

Refinements and suggestions are welcome!

  1. You’re going to put a potato in your dryer!? Oh, man, that is going to be loud and potentially messy :-D :-D :-D

I think the 1 – 5 & 9 – 10 will yield a goodly amount of data. The rest of them, especially with potatoes (?!) just makes for a brilliant and fun time :-D

  2. There are many different types of detox diet plans out there, some are more harmful than others, but many of them are safe. The trick is not to overdo it. First rid the body of toxins before you plan on any weight loss (if any).
