A couple of friends (who happen to be a couple) expressed a good deal of interest in the Slanket vs Snuggie review, so I sent them a test kit to run through the paces. They delivered more than I’d dared hope for. If they’re game, I may just impose upon them again. Their payment? They got to keep the merchandise.
Just in case you haven’t been following the thread (how could you? I thought we had something), I’ve been circling this issue for weeks. As follows:
- This Slanket thing is out of control
- It’s game time: Snuggie vs Slanket

And one more link, if you can stand it: The Difference Between The Slanket and Snuggie

Visual Inspection
As you can see, the Slanket is a much more substantial product. As fleece goes, the Slanket is thick, heavy and plush. The Snuggie is thin and of visibly lower quality than the Slanket. Maybe that is why it comes with a free book light.
Charge! Static?
Yes, please! Slanket wins the lesser-of-two-evils award in the static category. The Snuggie is made of the same material as the “car blankets” you can find at CVS for five bucks. As such, it can generate enough static electricity to blow your cat across the room. [editor's note: no cats were harmed in the making of this blog post]
Would you leave the house in your Snuggie/Slanket?
Hell, no! Maybe if I were 15 years younger and it meant I’d get free beer (kudos to the Snuggie pub crawlers) but those days are long gone. But if you HAD to leave the house, take the Snuggie over the Slanket. The Slanket is too heavy and large for maneuvering, being so long that a face-plant into the carpet is in your future. The Snuggie wins the mobility contest.
Are the Snuggie/Slanket sleeves effective?
Yes, both models keep your arms free for what is important: channel surfing, text messaging, cat loving and wine sipping. Sleeves are long enough to keep you warm while you work on your couch tasks.
The Slanket is an actual blanket with sleeves and lives up to its name. The Snuggie is less of a blanket and more of a backwards robe.

That slanket model is hot stuff!! She kinda looks like a cross between the Statue of Liberty and Wonder Woman!
I am in awe of the skill of these reviewers.
Yawn. Slankets.
My kudos to this review, but it does not tell me the answer to my question. Which one is best for putting on a deep hood, acquiring a scythe, and lying in wait until your husband appears and then announcing “Sorry, your number is up. I told you to lay off the bacon cheeseburgers.”?
I am doing a “snuggie” story for my feature writing class and I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions for the article. Please email me! Thanks!!
You’re all wrong the snuggie is awsum!!!!!!!
If I could find the Slanket in stores, I would prefer it. But for now, I’m a Snuggie man.

i work for qvc, you can get a slanket on qvc.com it is worth the money and you can make payments as well as free shipping and handling. $30 bucks for the slanket; $20 for the snuggie. if you compare the package both come in – the slanket packaging dwarfs the snuggie’s.
i used to make fun of ANYTHING like this, but when it started getting cold in my house (the heater doesn’t work), i went for it and have no regrets – no matter how ridiculous i look at least i’m warm
i’m 100% confident that if any snuggie enthusiast EVER tried on a slanket, they’d shamefully throw away their snuggie. they even make slankets with hand pockets and foot pockets for extra warmth.
Thanks for the linkback, nutgraf.
@ryan
go jump off a ladder. slanket rules.

It’s the slanket all the way. Larger, heavier and the dog likes to cuddle on it.
I’m a slanket lover… i first brought a snuggie as i was cheaper but soon realised it was crap so i brought the slanket and have loved it ever since.
MICROFLEECE SNUGGIE.
sherpa snuggie? http://www.mysnuggiestore.com/p-2013-snuggie-sherpa-tan.aspx
Totally agree with the evaluation. Snuggies have their place, but for me, if you are looking for quality and durability then you should always opt for The Slanket over the Snuggie
